In this blog I will walk you through a step by step plan so you can retain for the next 10 days. Step 1. Make a decision Kill off the option of failure in your mind. STOP negotiating with your mind! Any word ending in "cide" means to kill. Think of the words pesticide, suicide or homicide. When you make a real decision you kill off any other option. If you are in the habit of negotiating with your own mind, this habit must also be killed off. To help you make a real decision (opposed to lofty dreaming) write your goal down on a piece of paper and look at it every day. This will help to reinforce your decision on a daily basis Step 2. Develop a Reward System When you know there is a reward for your decisions you will be able to use this as a weapon of war to win the battle inside your mind when temptation and weak moments arise. Don't be a fool and think you won't be tempted or have weak moments, we all do. Step 3. Identify patterns and Relapse Triggers When are you most likely to relapse? Is it in the morning when you first wake up? Is it at night when you are feeling tired in bed? Is it when your wife/partner goes out and you are alone? Is it when you sit in-front of your computer to start your work day? Identify the times in which you know you are most triggered and create a plan of action to eliminate these triggers or work around them. For example, if you know that you tend to watch porn or jerk off when you are home alone during the day, make plans to go out and sit at a coffee shop or hit the gym. If you usually wake up and go onto your phone, buy an alarm clock and leave your phone outside your bedroom. The point here is to create personal systems that help you achieve success and avoid temptations. Step 4. Create a schedule for the next 10 days Idol minds make for dumb decisions. Stop winging it when it comes to your life. Use a schedule and plan your day. Grab a calendar (I use google calendar) and schedule the next 10 days.
